The Institute of Chemistry (IChem) is a degree-granting unit of the College of Science at the University of the Philippines Diliman. It serves as a premier training ground for the country’s top chemists, with its graduates consistently excelling in various sectors, including academia, research, industry, and government service.

Philosophy of Education and Graduate Attributes
The Institute of Chemistry is dedicated to producing graduates with a strong sense of responsibility to the nation, equipped with scientific skills, ethical grounding, and innovative mindsets to improve human life. The integrated curriculum fosters critical thinking, scientific rigor, and cultural awareness, preparing graduates to meaningfully contribute to chemistry and national progress.
Graduates must exhibit mastery of chemistry principles and laboratory skills while manifesting breadth of mind, character, and spirit gained from a balanced curriculum of natural sciences and humanities. They engage inclusively with society and the global scientific community, applying chemistry know-how to address health, environment, energy, and industry challenges.
