Registration Guidelines
Graduate Students
Pre-advising:
(1) Course Selection: Consult your thesis/dissertation advisor on which courses to enroll in for the upcoming semester.
Please note that:
- Seminar courses (Chem 29x/39x) and Chem 300/400 may only be taken with your advisor’s consent.
- Cognate courses require your advisor’s approval.
(2) POS Revision: Update your Program of Study (POS) to reflect any changes from your original plan (e.g. replacing a cognate course, change in the Term taken, etc.). Be sure to also enter your grades from previous semesters in the revised POS. Convert to pdf file and sign. Please follow this file name format: SURNAME_POS_Graduate Program (e.g. TENGCO_POS_MS Chem Thesis)
(3) POS Submission: Email the revised POS to your advisor for signature. Your advisor will upload the signed POS to their designated Google Drive folder.* The IC Director (Dr. Conato) will then sign all POS uploaded to this folder.
*If your advisor is from outside IC (e.g. MSI), email your signed POS to the IC-DDRE, who will upload it to the Google Drive.
(4) Enlistment Locking: Once you are enlisted in your approved courses, lock your enlistment in the CRS.
Post-advising:
The IC-DDRE will review your enlisted courses and revised POS, then complete the post-advising process.
